Tappan Hill Mansion in Tarrytown, New York • Spring Wedding Photos at an Abigail Kirsch Venue

I had the honor of helping a friend photograph a wedding at Tappan Hill Mansion. It’s an Abigail Kirsch exclusive catering venue and historic property.

Tappan Hill Mansion Wedding Venue Location

Tappan Hill is in a great area. It’s in Westchester County in Tarrytown, NY. It is right next to the town of Sleepy Hollow, near the famous Kykuit Mansion and Sleepy Hollow Country Club.

Tappan Hill is a historic property, where Mark Twain’s estate was. It’s on a hill (hence the name) that overlooks the Hudson River. Though people consider more upstate venues the “Hudson Valley,” like Southwood Estate, Tappan Hill Mansion is, in fact, part of the southern Hudson Valley as well.

Tappan Hill Mansion’s Grounds

There are absolutely gorgeous locations to take wedding photos on the grounds surrounding the mansion at Tappan Hill.

There’s an attractive round about in front of the stone facade of the mansion. Then there’s a beautiful maple tree on the back lawn and breathtaking stepped patio, where couples can have outdoor ceremonies. And there are colorful flower beds around the property to gush over.

Inside Tappan Hill Mansion

Your breath is taken away as soon as you step into Tappan Hill Mansion because of the sweeping staircase in the rotunda.

They have two indoor rooms for couples to choose from: the Pavilion room, which is where Emily and Mitch got married and celebration with a reception following cocktail hour, or the Hudson Room, which has a bit more modern vibe mostly because its ceiling is finished differently.

Tappan Hill Memories to Last a Lifetime!

It’s such a beautiful venue to get married in the memories will vividly live on, especially well…because of great photography! But, all half-jokes aside, there are so many details of their wedding I’ll cherish, especially the view looking out onto the hill during their family photos and ceremony.
