The day was warm and colorful filled with earth tones and the vibrancy of the fall season. It was just what Katie envisioned with ivy cascading down from her bouquet over her gorgeous silk gown. Any time she would glance over her shoulder at the camera she couldn’t help but flash a coy smile, feeling as beautiful as she looked. The bow of her gown was a highlight for everyone, including the bride. The pearl and diamond earrings she wore were almost as special as her bracelet. (They were her grandmothers from the 1950s.) The string of pearls Katie wore with a clasp around her wrist was her special bracelet, made of pearls her grandmother had gifted her: one for each birthday. Her mother had them strung together for a priceless keepsake. Much more than jewelry and nothing words could really describe.
The bridesmaids had two rooms to prepare in with the bride. One was hair and makeup headquarters and the other kept squeaky clean for photos! (Which I loved.) The dresses looked pristine hanging on custom hangers in a row next to Katie’s beautiful gown. And the women all matched in robes from Katie – navy to match their dresses! Jason wasn’t far – just across the hall. He got ready with his groomsmen and we pinned all their orange boutonnieres on one by one to complete their looks. Jason, of course, had a special white one.
After Katie’s mother helped her get into her gown her best friends came in for a big reveal to see her. They were in awe of the entire bridal look coming together. Everyone was in awe for the rest of the day, truthfully. She looked elegant, glamorous and utterly stunning.
Their first look brought more of many smiles to continue throughout the day and evening. We had some dedicated time for photos around the venue just us, then adding in their wedding party, then with their family before their ketubah signing.
Shoutout to Katie’s makeup artist, Jennifer, who did an amazing job however most especially for staying with us throughout photos to help carry her dress. It was a huge help! Also shout out to Katie’s friend Claire, who gifted Katie a special ring dish with their initials and wedding date. I love using things like that in photos!
They’re all so perfect I can hardly stand it! Katie on the stairs with her dress’s train cascading down, the men in grey suits, women in navy gowns with perfect accents of bouquets filled with dahlias and peachy pink amaryllis and ranunculus…the bride and groom’s fall wedding inspiration really came to life that day.
Aren’t those decanters Jason gifted to his groomsmen amazing? I love their custom engraving! I may have to buy one for my husband!
Their outdoor, fall wedding was beauttifulllll! Just gorgeous. And I love the way the suede cobalt blue yarmulkes stand out. They were stamped with their names and wedding date inside. Lanterns, white pumpkins and colorful flowers (including autumn mums) lined the aisle that Jason and Katie would walk down as husband and wife when the rabbi pronounced them married! He was friendly and humorous; I would recommend him to anyone looking for an officiant for a Jewish ceremony!
Did I mention the jaw-dropping custom carved pumpkins at their reception? They had one that said “Welcome to Our Wedding” then their names, and Mrs. and Mrs. on their sweetheart table at the reception.
The bride and groom met in Boston. It was a serendipitous meeting while Katie was on another {terrible} date with her best friend and Maid of Honor, Catherine. It was meant to be! So they named all their tables after places that were meaningful in their relationship in Massachusetts instead of numbers.
Tables were decorated with sunflowers, berries, fall leaves, pumpkins, pomegranates and pears. Drinks matched the vibe with a custom signature cocktail called, “Cider?! I Hardly Know Her!” It was a hit!
Katie swapped her veil for a floral comb. Her and Jason danced their first dance to “Freak,” by Olivver the Kid, and he dipped her for a grand finale. (Who has ever looked this good during a dip? Only Katie!)
Aren’t best friends essential for everyday living? Katie’s Maid of Honor was the friend who was with her the night she met Jason!
The rest of the night was filled with things I love: dancing, great food, a beautiful night sky, apple cider donuts, s’mores and sparklers for the bride and groom. (And a very cute fall inspired wedding cake with pumpkin cake toppers with a veil and bow tie and white chocolate autumn leaves!)
Congratulations, Katie and Jason!!!
