INTERESTED IN WORKING WITH MIKKEL?
DON'T HESITATE TO REACH OUT.
Our love for Disney bonded us and I was onboard from the start. I love traveling – anywhere – and when a change of location moved their wedding the sea to Raleigh, North Carolina they asked if I still wanted to photograph their day…heck yes!!!
I truly believe everything happens for a reason. Their day was perfect – I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I have a special place in my heart for small weddings. Their 30 person or so guest list was of family and friends who mattered most to them. While it took them a while to find a venue that was perfect for them, All Saints Chapel for their Ceremony and Second Empire restaurant for their reception were truly perfect. AND the best part? Shantelle and Andrew still had their dream getaway; they headed to Orlando hours after they said “I do” to enjoy a few days at Walt Disney World and aboard Disney Cruise Line.
The Starbucks drink they ordered that morning were appropriately labeled. I have to say it’s one of the cutest happenstance details I’ve ever seen in a “getting ready” situation!
Shantelle and I loved her pink garment bag and her hanger was unique in that not only did it have her new last name on it but also her wedding date.
Her maid of honor, Emily, wore this beautiful blue dress and the bride sparkled in sequin heels.
Andrew’s sister, Liz, helped pin his boutonniere to his lapel. After Andrew opened a gift from his bride, it was time for their first look and some quality photo-taking time. Their ceremony was held at Raleigh’s historic All Saints Chapel; it was built in 1875 so it’s a true piece of local history.
After they said their vows it was time to celebrate at Second Empire.
This Disney-enthusiast couple was sure to include Disney details in their day. (And yes, Shantelle’s tattoo is real…so I suppose it’s always in her everyday life!)
I was incredibly impressed that Shantelle created this wonderful Mr. & Mrs. glittered sign for their sweetheart table. I always feel a connection to a crafty bride.
Shantelle wore earrings she borrowed from her mom – the sapphires were perfect for “something blue” too.
After the cake was cut and we went downtown to capture a last kiss in front of a butterfly mural wall next to The Remedy Diner, they headed to the airport to embark on their Disneymoon.
Congratulations, you two! I loved working with you!
