INTERESTED IN WORKING WITH MIKKEL?
DON'T HESITATE TO REACH OUT.
Melanie and Jarrett had the most precious intimate wedding at My Moon, Brooklyn, a NYC bar and restaurant with a rustic romance vibe. They decided to opt for a smaller guest list – only their family and closest friends – on a summer day filled with special details and memories.
One of my favorite things about their wedding was the care Melanie took in everything that I just love capturing, like their invitation and table numbers. She even carefully selected one of the trendiest, amazing hotels in Williamsburg, Brooklyn for their “getting ready” location, just a few blocks from their venue, the Wythe Hotel. She emailed me the day before their wedding to express her concern that it was “small” but it couldn’t have been more amazing! Sure, it was NYC pint-sized but it worked out so incredibly well. It oozed with natural light and amazing colors and textures like a grey and white marble bar complete with mint green paint and this blue painted bunk bed that I set up for a wedding gown shot. And outside the window was an urban-beautiful brick wall adorned with vintage logo paintings. Perfection!
Melanie looked radiant while writing her vows just before her mother helped her get into her strapless Nicole Miller gown.
STUNNING!
Soon it was time to head to the venue where they’d see each other for the first time and say “I do” in a garden deck sun-soaked ceremony.
My Moon has a gorgeous outdoor space, including the awesome garden deck where they said “I do”.
Aren’t these chalkboard inspired chair signs amazing? See what I mean? She’s so detail-oriented!
Family touches were everywhere – they had a lot of old family photographs from weddings around the room and Jarrett’s mother hand painted the mini canvases on easels for the guests’ favors.
Nine Cakes did a fabulous job with a two-tiered white buttercream wedding cake complete with pink ombre gumpaste flowers. (I LOVE a good ombre effect!)
Not gonna lie – I enjoyed one of these See’s chocolate lollipops on my flight to Jamaica last week and it totally hit the spot. Such a great little gourmet treat for guests to enjoy even after Melanie and Jarrett’s wedding day.
And with a cutting of their summer flavored, vanilla and fresh strawberry wedding cake the day was complete. It was really such a special intimate day and I’m so fortunate to have gotten to know this beautiful pair, especially Melanie’s upbeat, enthusiastic personality. And after meeting one another in high school I’m so happy their lives led them to this day and they’re forever be husband and wife!
