DON'T HESITATE TO REACH OUT.
Shannon and Thomas’s wedding was everything all had envisioned for this deserving, loving couple who were wed at St. Peter’s Church and partied the night away at Manhattan Penthouse, near Union Square.
I remember my initial call with Shannon. I was on a long drive and her voice and excitement completely eased my driving stress and made me smile. Her enthusiasm was contagious and she had a calm demeanor about her and a gratitude for life I could sense from the start.
She mentioned how much she loves Kate Spade, something I can relate to! (More on that later.) We bonded instantly and I was so happy to see everything come together on a gorgeous Friday in September for one of the most important days of their lives.
Both the groomsmen and bridesmaids did their final preparations at W Union Square. The hotel has such fun elements and it was the perfect place to photograph some details like Shannon’s Swarovski crystal embellished illusion neckline gown to the special hangers she bought for herself and her brides. Even the monogrammed robes they got ready in were awesome!
I joked I was going to “borrow” a pair of Kendra Scott earrings from one of the bridesmaids and “pay no attention if you can’t find them later!” I LOVE Kendra Scott earrings. Hmmm….could I join the bridal party and wear them too?! But really, how awesome is that for Shannon to gift her best friends? Talk about something they truly will wear again!
After an exchange of Yeti Pop “Hide a Can” gifts for Thomas’s groomsmen and Cesar, his father, giving everyone a lesson in how to tie a bow tie, it was time for the couple’s first look!
I just LOVE the above photo of these two! They rented a trolly to bus the wedding party (and their lovely photographers) to lower Manhattan where we’d take some gorgeous photos and where they’d say “I do!” at a historic church. I glanced out the window near Chelsea Market to see Einstein painted on a wall holding a sign that read, “Love is the Answer.” Amen, brother!
Tracey Reynolds did an amazing job on all the florals! I love the mini protea in the groomsmen boutonnieres and the dahlias she used in the bouquets were so huge and awe-inspiring!
Shannon’s wedding day earrings were her “something borrowed,” from her aunt Connie.
Time to take this gorgeous couple to St. Peter’s Church in the financial district of Manhattan and get Shannon in her amazing cathedral length veil! Remember when I said she loves Kate Spade? I sent her a “something blue” KS clutch as a surprise in advance and she used it on her wedding day! It made me so happy!
And of course…you know what the end of a ceremony means: PARTY TIME! Both of them were most looking forward to being surrounded by family and friends at their reception – from all phases of life from growing up to adulthood in Texas and beyond. (They currently reside in Austin.)
Manhattan Penthouse looked beautiful and little details I adore, like matching escort cards and menus and great table numbers, were not overlooked. And the cake? OMG. The cake!
I love their Save the Date because truly, as the sunset on their wedding day the view was exactly that from either side of the dance floor: glowing Manhattan skyline goodness.
The speeches made by Shannon’s sister and Thomas’s best friend were wonderful but I think the most impactful speech of the evening was her father’s, who explained she knew Thomas was special when Shannon went through a particularly trying time and he stood by her side. I teared up.
Okay – I mean….are you gushing like I am over this cake topper? They have a pug (back at home in Texas!) and the cake topper was just totally a show stopper. Not just their adorable faces…but look at their cute butts!
Aren’t these two the cutest? Congratulations!!! I am so glad I could be a part of your day and all it’s beauty both aesthetically and emotionally!
