Magnolia Plantation is a beautiful place for all the charm of Charleston in one location. I recently visited good friends who live nearby in West Ashley (a suburb of Charleston) and we took a trip to this gorgeous place. The entire time I hoped a bride and groom would appear around the corner, especially because we were there on a Saturday, but alas, it was just us! However, I would absolutely love to photograph a wedding there one day, since I know it’s a popular venue for couples to tie the knot! The branches almost danced in the water. Isn’t the reflection beautiful? If you look closely on the above left photos, there a tiny alligator peeking out of the water! I love the pattern the algae’s swirling is creating on the top of the water. The bamboo garden on the plantation property literally took my breath away. I even posted it to my Instagram immediately when I snapped an iPhone picture on the spot. These oak trees must be hundreds of years old. Man, if those trees could talk! I can’t imagine what they’ve seen!
Spanish moss hanging off huge oak trees is quintessentially southern to me. I adore it. I don’t like birds so much…but anyone who appreciates natural beauty and art can’t resist how GORGEOUS peacocks are! They roam free on the property. Does anyone else think of Katy Perry’s song, Peacock when they see peacocks now? Haha! Here is a link to Magnolia Plantation’s site!
Happy {travel} Tuesday!
